About the artist

As a Cincinnati-based artist with a BFA from Miami University, a Graphic Design Certification from NYIAD, and an enrollment in a MBA for Fall 2026, my work blends fine art with nature-inspired jewelry, rooted in exploration and intentional craftsmanship.

From childhood, I was drawn to the human figure, botanical forms, and anatomical studies. These early interests—along with my admiration for the Italian Renaissance and Leonardo da Vinci—shaped my fascination with the connections between art, science, and the natural world. My love for the Italian Renaissance and Classical art was deep, though I couldn't help but notice I didn't see many subjects that looked like me, a woman of color.

Renaissance in Bloom grows from this lifelong curiosity and lack of inclusivity. The exhibition reimagines classical art by centering Black, Brown, and Asian figures while pairing illustration with preserved botanical jewelry. It reflects not only my influences but also the ongoing process of experimentation, reflection, representation, and spiritual grounding that guides my work.

By preserving flowers and natural materials, I highlight the shared fragility and resilience of humans and nature and highlight how adornment plays a large part in Black, Brown, and Asian identities, allowing nature itself to serve as both adornment and archive. Each piece, whether worn or displayed, invites viewers to slow down, look closely, and find the extraordinary within the ordinary. Renaissance in Bloom celebrates authenticity, renewal, and the beauty of handcrafted artistry.

About the artist

As a Cincinnati-based artist, I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Miami University (2020), a Graphic Design Certification from the New York Institute of Art + Design (2022), and I will begin my Master's in Business Administration program in Fall 2026 through Miami University.

My practice blends fine art and nature-inspired jewelry-making, reflecting a commitment to continual exploration and authentic craftsmanship.

From childhood, art became the language through which I understood the world. I spent hours drawing the human figure, studying botanical forms, and pouring over anatomical illustrations and textbooks. Those early obsessions—fascination with the human body, reverence for plant life (though I could never seem to keep any alive), and a deep appreciation for detail—became the foundation of my creative voice. My admiration for the Italian Renaissance, particularly the work of Leonardo da Vinci, sharpened my interest in the relationships between art, science, and the natural world. Da Vinci’s ability to unify anatomy and nature continues to influence my approach, encouraging me to explore the harmony between humanity and the botanical realm. My love for Italian Renaissance and Classical  art was deep, though I couldn't help but notice I didn't see many subjects that looked like me,  a woman of color.

Renaissance in Bloom arises from this lifelong curiosity and lack of inclusivity. It reflects not only my artistic influences but also my desire to expand the classical narrative by centering Black, Brown, and Asian figures (communities historically overlooked in Renaissance and Classical imagery). This exhibition is about more than presenting finished artworks; it is about experimentation, refinement, feedback, representation, spiritual grounding, and the deeply personal process of growth. Every drawing and every botanical piece represents a step in that journey.

Through this work, I merge illustration with wearable botanical forms to highlight how adornment plays a large part in Black, Brown, and Asian identities, allowing nature itself to serve as both adornment and archive. Guided by faith and sustainable practices, I preserve and transform flowers, leaves, and organic materials into creations that honor God’s design and the artistry of human hands. By incorporating botanical jewelry into the compositions, I highlight the inherent similarities between humans and the natural world: our shared fragility, resilience, structure, and beauty.

In a fast-paced world, art matters because it asks us to pause and look again. My work invites viewers to reflect, reconnect, and recognize the extraordinary within the ordinary. Whether displayed on paper or worn on the body, each piece is a meditation on craft, narrative, and presence. Renaissance in Bloom celebrates authenticity, enduring beauty, and the luxury of handcrafted artistry; reimagining the classical world through a lens of restoration, representation, and renewal.
